At a 12% annual return, ₹10,000 a month for 15 years grows to about ₹50.5 lakh — you invest ₹18 lakh and earn roughly ₹32.5 lakh in returns. The longer you stay invested, the more of your final value comes from compounding rather than your own money. - [Step-up SIP Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/step-up-sip-calculator/): A step-up SIP raises your monthly investment by a fixed percentage every year. At 12% returns, ₹10,000 a month stepped up 10% a year for 20 years grows to about ₹1.98 crore, compared with about ₹99.9 lakh from a regular ₹10,000 SIP. That is nearly double, from raises you would barely notice in your budget. - [Lumpsum Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/lumpsum-calculator/): A lumpsum investment grows by compounding: FV = P × (1 + r)^t. At 12% a year, ₹5 lakh becomes about ₹15.5 lakh in 10 years and ₹48.2 lakh in 20 years. At 12%, money roughly doubles every 6 years (Rule of 72: 72 ÷ 12 = 6). - [SWP Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/swp-calculator/): An SWP (Systematic Withdrawal Plan) pays you a fixed amount from a mutual fund every month while the rest stays invested. With ₹50 lakh earning 8% a year, you can withdraw about ₹32,000 a month and keep your capital intact. Withdraw more than the returns and the corpus slowly runs down. - [Goal SIP Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/goal-sip-calculator/): To reach a goal, first inflate it to its future cost, then find the SIP whose future value matches. A goal worth ₹50 lakh today, 15 years away, costs about ₹1.2 crore at 6% inflation. At 12% returns that needs a monthly SIP of about ₹23,800. - [CAGR Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/cagr-calculator/): CAGR is the constant yearly rate at which an investment would grow from its starting value to its ending value. CAGR = (Final ÷ Initial)^1/years − 1. If ₹1 lakh becomes ₹2.5 lakh in 5 years, the CAGR is 20.11%, even though the absolute return is 150%. - [Compound Interest Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/compound-interest-calculator/): Compound interest earns interest on both your principal and past interest. A = P × (1 + r/n)^n×t. ₹1 lakh at 8% compounded quarterly becomes about ₹2.21 lakh in 10 years. The same deposit earns only ₹1.8 lakh with simple interest. - [Simple Interest Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/simple-interest-calculator/): Simple interest is calculated only on the original principal: SI = (P × R × T) ÷ 100. ₹1,00,000 at 8% for 5 years earns ₹40,000, so the total is ₹1,40,000. Compound interest on the same amount would earn ₹46,933. ### Loan & EMI Calculators - [EMI Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/emi-calculator/): EMI (Equated Monthly Instalment) is the fixed amount you pay every month to repay a loan with interest. A ₹10 lakh loan at 9.5% for 5 years has an EMI of ₹21,002, and you pay ₹2,60,112 in total interest. - [Home Loan EMI Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/home-loan-emi-calculator/): For a ₹50 lakh home loan at 8.5% for 20 years, the EMI is ₹43,391. Total interest is ₹54,13,879, more than the loan itself. Stretching the same loan to 30 years cuts the EMI to ₹38,446 but raises total interest to ₹88,40,443. - [Car Loan EMI Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/car-loan-emi-calculator/): A ₹8 lakh car loan at 9% for 5 years has an EMI of ₹16,607, with ₹1,96,401 in total interest. Choosing 7 years lowers the EMI to ₹12,871 but adds about ₹84,785 more interest, on a car that loses value every year. - [Personal Loan EMI Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/personal-loan-emi-calculator/): A ₹5 lakh personal loan at 12% for 3 years has an EMI of ₹16,607. With a 2% processing fee plus GST taken from the payout, you receive less but repay the full EMI, so the true yearly cost (APR) is about 13.7%, not 12%. - [Loan Prepayment Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/loan-prepayment-calculator/): Prepaying ₹5 lakh after 2 years on a ₹50 lakh, 20-year loan at 8.5% saves about ₹14,57,301 in interest and ends the loan 3.8 years early if you keep the same EMI. Reducing tenure almost always saves more than reducing EMI. - [Home Loan Eligibility Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/home-loan-eligibility-calculator/): Banks cap your total EMIs at a share of net income, called FOIR, usually 50–60%. With a ₹1 lakh monthly take-home, no other loans, 50% FOIR and 8.5% for 20 years, you can get about ₹57,61,542. The maximum EMI is ₹50,000. ### Tax & Salary Calculators - [Income Tax Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/income-tax-calculator/): For Tax Year 2026-27 (FY 2026-27), income up to ₹12 lakh is tax-free under the new regime. For salaried people, that is ₹12.75 lakh of salary, thanks to the ₹75,000 standard deduction and the ₹60,000 rebate. On a ₹15 lakh salary, new-regime tax is ₹97,500, compared with ₹2,02,800 under the old regime even with full 80C and ₹25,000 of 80D deductions. The old regime wins only if your total deductions are large. - [Salary Calculator (CTC to In-hand)](https://hisaabcalc.in/salary-calculator/): On a ₹12 lakh CTC, monthly in-hand salary is about ₹93,795 under the new regime for FY 2026-27. This assumes basic is 50% of CTC (the minimum under the labour codes), PF on the ₹15,000 wage ceiling, gratuity inside CTC and ₹2,400 professional tax. Income tax is ₹0, because the ₹12 lakh rebate covers most of it. - [HRA Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/hra-calculator/): HRA exemption is the lowest of three amounts: (1) actual HRA received, (2) rent paid minus 10% of basic + DA, and (3) 50% of basic + DA in a metro or 40% elsewhere. From FY 2026-27, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and Ahmedabad count as metros alongside Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. The exemption is available only in the old tax regime. - [Capital Gains Tax Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/capital-gains-tax-calculator/): For FY 2026-27: equity shares and equity mutual funds held over 12 months are taxed at 12.5% on gains above ₹1.25 lakh. Held for 12 months or less, the rate is 20%. Property, gold and unlisted shares held over 24 months are taxed at 12.5% without indexation. Debt fund gains (units bought after 1 April 2023) are always taxed at your slab rate. Add 4% cess. - [GST Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/gst-calculator/): To add GST: GST = amount × rate ÷ 100. ₹10,000 at 18% becomes ₹11,800. To remove GST from an inclusive price: base = amount ÷ (1 + rate/100). ₹11,800 at 18% has a base of ₹10,000 and GST of ₹1,800. Within a state, GST is split equally into CGST and SGST. Between states, it is charged as IGST. - [Gratuity Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/gratuity-calculator/): Gratuity under the Payment of Gratuity Act = 15 × last drawn (basic + DA) × years of service ÷ 26. With ₹60,000 basic + DA and 8 years 7 months of service (rounded to 9 years), gratuity is ₹3,11,538. You normally need 5 years of continuous service. Up to ₹20 lakh is tax-free for private-sector employees. ### Savings & Govt Scheme Calculators - [FD Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/fd-calculator/): Most Indian banks compound FD interest quarterly: A = P × (1 + r/4)^4t. ₹5 lakh at 7% for 3 years grows to about ₹6.16 lakh, an effective yield of 7.19%. FD interest is fully taxable at your slab rate. Deposits up to ₹5 lakh per bank are insured by DICGC. - [RD Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/rd-calculator/): A recurring deposit adds a fixed amount every month, and each instalment compounds quarterly for the time it stays invested. ₹5,000 a month for 5 years in a Post Office RD at 6.7% matures to about ₹3,56,829, on deposits of ₹3,00,000. - [PPF Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/ppf-calculator/): PPF currently earns 7.1% a year, compounded yearly and fully tax-free. Investing the maximum ₹1.5 lakh every year for 15 years gives about ₹40,68,209. You invest ₹22.5 lakh and earn about ₹18,18,209 in interest. Extend by 5 years to about ₹66,58,288. - [EPF Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/epf-calculator/): EPF currently earns 8.25% (FY 2025-26). You contribute 12% of basic + DA. Your employer also pays 12%, but 8.33% of up to ₹15,000 (₹1,250 a month) goes to the EPS pension, and the rest goes to EPF. With ₹30,000 basic at age 28, 6% yearly hikes and 8.25% interest, you would have about ₹1.84 Cr at 58. - [Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/sukanya-samriddhi-yojana-calculator/): Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana pays 8.2% a year, tax-free. You deposit for 15 years, and the account matures 21 years after opening. Investing the maximum ₹1.5 lakh a year gives about ₹71,82,119 at maturity on deposits of ₹22.5 lakh. - [NPS Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/nps-calculator/): NPS builds a retirement corpus in market-linked funds. At exit, non-government subscribers now need to use only 20% for an annuity (pension) and can take up to 80% out, under PFRDA’s December 2025 rules. ₹5,000 a month from age 30 to 60 at 10% builds about ₹1.14 crore, which means about ₹11,400 a month in pension and ₹91 lakh as a lump sum. - [SCSS Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/scss-calculator/): SCSS pays 8.2% a year, paid out every quarter, to people aged 60 or above (55+ for some retirees). The maximum deposit is ₹30 lakh. ₹30 lakh earns ₹61,500 every quarter (about ₹20,500 a month) for 5 years, and your capital is returned at maturity. - [NSC Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/nsc-calculator/): NSC earns 7.7% a year, compounded yearly and paid at maturity after 5 years. ₹1 lakh becomes about ₹1,44,903. In the old regime, the accrued interest in years 1–4 counts as reinvested and qualifies for 80C. - [Post Office MIS Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/post-office-mis-calculator/): The Post Office MIS pays 7.4% a year as monthly income for 5 years. The maximum deposit is ₹9 lakh (single) or ₹15 lakh (joint). ₹9 lakh gives ₹5,550 a month, and a ₹15 lakh joint account gives ₹9,250. ### Financial Planning Calculators - [Retirement Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/retirement-calculator/): A 30-year-old spending ₹50,000 a month today will need about ₹7,71,48,478 at 60 to last till 85, assuming 6% inflation and 7% returns after retirement. Expenses will be about ₹2,87,175 a month by then. Building that needs a monthly SIP of about ₹27,259 at 11% returns, starting now. - [Inflation Calculator](https://hisaabcalc.in/inflation-calculator/): At 6% inflation, prices double about every 12 years. Something that costs ₹1 lakh today will cost about ₹3.21 lakh in 20 years, and ₹1 lakh kept in cash will be worth only about ₹31,000 in today’s money. RBI targets CPI inflation of 4% within a band of 2–6%. ## Reference data - [Small savings interest rates](https://hisaabcalc.in/interest-rates/): current PPF, SSY, SCSS, NSC, KVP, MIS, RD and time deposit rates. - [Income tax slabs FY 2026-27](https://hisaabcalc.in/income-tax-slabs/): new and old regime slabs with worked examples. ## Optional - [Full text for LLMs](https://hisaabcalc.in/llms-full.txt) - [About & methodology](https://hisaabcalc.in/about/)
